Parents Involvement

Parents are welcome to visit either of the centers at any time, we encourage open communication between ourselves and parents. We do ask parents to limit time in class with their child. All visitors must be in the supervision of one of our fingerprinted staff members at all times.

Hours of Operation

Our Centers are open from 6.30am - 6.30 pm Monday thru Friday for daily childcare and we also offer extended evening, nighttime & weekend childcare, subject to availibility, by prior arrangement.

Sign In – Sign Out

Parents are asked to sign in and sign out, as State Law requires it. We ask parents to use their full signature, as shown on their drivers license, as we cross check periodically to ensure children's security.

Admissions Procedure

We ask all parents to complete the emergency card at time of enrollment. This provides us with names, telephone numbers and an up to date immunization record for each child.  We also complete any other required documents and release agreements at this time, including D.E.S. forms if applicable.

We request that all emergency information be kept current. Persons named on the reverse side of the emergency card will be asked to provide ID when collecting a child and in this event, we require prior notice from a parent to enable us to provide a safe environment for each child.  We insist that this procedure is followed or we will not release the child from our care.

Children must be enrolled by their parent or guardian; there is a non-refundable registration fee
(see schedule).

We keep the following in each child's personal folder:

Ages

We welcome children from infants through school age.

Infants/Toddlers

We ask that each child be provided with everything that he/she needs for the day.  For example: diapers, desitin, wipes, bottles, juice cups, baby food and snack food.  Each child is provided with a cubby for the parent or guardians convenience.

Nap Times/Rest Times

Nap time begins at 12:30 p.m.  Children who stay a full day are encouraged to rest; they need time to refresh their energy for the afternoon session.

Discipline

Rainbows and Hayden Childrens Center adopt a positive approach to behavior.  We believe in redirection of children in a positive manner and follow the rules of the Department of Health Services using verbal explanation.

Illnesses

We ask that parents notify us if any illness has occurred. If a child becomes ill, they are allowed to lie down away from the other children while a parent is contacted to pick him or her up.  The Department of Health requires any child who is sick or running an abnormal temperature to remain at home.

Good health practices will be taught to children.

Medications

We do not administer medications as a rule; we will store medications on-site for parents to administer. All medication must be in the original bottle with a complete label including the child's name.

Accidents

All accidents are recorded in a book.  An accident report will be completed no matter how small it may be. We ask parents to encourage their child to inform teachers of any cut or bump they may have.

Insurance

We hold all insurance required and set by the Department of Health.

Field Trips

Field trips are offered as educational and recreational activities in conjunction with the summer program. We require written authorization from parents for field trips.
